Property details

The Grade II listed building dating back to the 14c nestles in a small hamlet close to magnificent clifftop walks and sandy beaches.

The house retains many original features, including exposed beams, woodburning stove and a stone fireplace with cloam oven (a traditional bread baking oven). The rooms all have a distinctive character and are finished to a high standard.

On top of all the original features, the house has been furnished with all the modern appliances you would expect: dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, TV, DVD, VCR, Hi-Fi etc.

You will be provided with the safest and highest quality kitchen accessories, bedding and towels for the duration of your stay.

The surrounding area

Tremaer is perfectly located to give you the best of both worlds: it is situated just outside of the noise and bustle in Bude, and yet within easy (and we really do mean easy) walking distance of all the scenery, activities and amenities that Bude offers.

Coast and beaches

Just five minutes walk takes you to the unspoilt National Trust beach of Northcott Mouth - a secluded bay with dramatic rock formations ideal for low-tide rock-pooling (click here to see some pictures) and sandy shores.

The North Cornwall Coastal Footpath runs along the top of the cliffs back into Bude and the wide expanses of soft sand at Crooklets and Summerleaze beaches - both of which enjoy lifeguard protection during the main season. There is also a large tidal seawater swimming pool - just perfect for those venturing their first splashes in the sea.

Surfing is very popular in Bude - there are opportunities for beginners and experts alike. If it is your first time there are plenty of shops offering board hire and lessons. Give it a go - it's not as hard as it looks!

Nearby Bude (about 10 minutes walk to the centre) gives you plenty of alternatives to the beach. Whether you like to keep fit on the 18 hole golf course, pitch and putt, bowling alley, tennis or squash courts, or would prefer the more sedate crazy golf, canal side walking and bird watching, fishing, horse riding or museums, shops and galleries, there is something for you in Bude.

Food and drink

No holiday would be complete without access to the best range of food and drink - Bude can offer restaurants and pubs to satisfy everyone's cravings.

Other attractions nearby

Further afield from Bude you can explore historic Tintagel - the legendary home of King Arthur - the picturesque villages of Clovelly, Boscastle, Rock or Padstow; or venture onto Dartmoor or Bodmin Moor for fantastic hiking and wildlife. The Eden Project is only about 1hr's drive away.
